Jackson Street Tavern

I'm just going to put it out there. I love brunch. I don't usually eat a huge breakfast most days but I really enjoy eating brunch on Sundays. One of our go-to places in Omaha for brunch is Jackson Street Tavern in the Old Market. It's pretty inexpensive and super close by to our condo. All good things. During the spring/summer, we'll even go for a run and stop by afterwards to eat. Good thing they open up the patio because well, we stink after a run. Especially when it's warmer out. Apologies to the people who had to sit near us.

Quick and Yummy Kale Salad

I've been trying to make better decisions in terms of eating choices and working out so I thought I'd share one of my current favorite salads. It's super easy to make and really flavorful!

On the Training Front

I'm back to consistently running again now that the fall race season is just around the corner. I am signed up for 4 half-marathons from September through November. I know, that sh*t is cray.

The Smell of Baseball is in the Air

It's that time of the year again in Omaha, the College World Series! The city gets flooded with baseball fans from all over the US to cheer on their favorite college team. Tickets are notoriously difficult to get a hold of but my husband has a colleagues who lets him know if there are any available. We usually get to go to one game each year and it's pretty fun hanging out, eating and watching baseball. Even better, there are beer gardens set up around the TD Ameritrade stadium so if we can't get tickets, we head over there and drink beer all day. Awesome in my book. Last year, I was able to make friends with some older ladies, chugging beer.

Turkey Meatballs with Yogurt Dipping Sauce

Turkey meatballs with a yogurt dipping sauce make for a super yummy appetizer. Heck, I could just eat that on its own. I love any type of food that comes with a dip: veggies with ranch dressing, fries and ketchup, the list goes on. This recipe is perfect for parties because you can seriously make a huge batch, set it in front of everyone, and watch as people fight over these delicious morsels. Just make sure to save yourself some, otherwise you'll be looking at an empty plate. And sadness will ensue.
